Concentrated AeroPress Recipe for Milk Drinks
If you don’t have an espresso machine but still crave milk-based beverages at home, don’t sweat it! Your AeroPress can step in as a worthy alternative. This method makes a concentrated brew strong enough to pair with milk, and is inspired by James Hoffman’s approach but tweaked just enough to keep things simple and a little different.
What You’ll Need
AeroPress (inverted method)
AeroPress paper filter (or metal filter for some more body!)
Stirring stick or spoon
Scale
Carafe
20g of coffee (fine-medium grind)
90g of hot water (around 94-96°C / 201-205°F)
Milk of your choice (warmed, steamed, or frothed)
How to make it:
Set your filter into the cap and rinse your filter if desired.
Preheat your AeroPress and push the plunger in about halfway (inverted position)
Add 20g of ground coffee to the chamber.
Pour in 90ml of hot water.
Stir thoroughly and break up any clumps, agitate slowly until the next step.
After 0m90s, flip the AeroPress onto the vessel of your choice, give it a gentle swirl, and press very slowly all the way through (past the hissing sound).
You should get about 55-70g of concentrated coffee.
Top with warmed or frothed milk, and enjoy your homemade latte, flat white, or cappuccino!
