This Coffee is Earthy! No questions about this coffees' taste profile, THIS wanted an earthy medium-dark roast - and that's what we have here. The usual downside to roasts in the medium to dark range is that it can lose some of the complexity. However, THIS cup most definitely is complex!

Description

This coffee was produced by smallholder farmers who are supporting organic and fair trade organizations in the Gayo Highlands of Indonesia – named after the predominant ethnic group, the Gayo. In addition to Gayo, Acehnese, Javanese and Batak people also live in the highlands.

Like most coffee from Sumatra, the processing is known as ‘gilling balash’ or wet-hulled. This is part of the reason that the cup profile has that heavy earthy taste profile, as this method is only used in Indonesia.

This Coffee is Earthy // This Coffee is Local // This Coffee is Ethical // This Coffee is Environmentally Friendly // This Coffee is Delicious
