That chance encounter with a green coffee pioneer led to 25+ years of roasting, experimenting, and chasing the kind of complexity you just couldn’t find on grocery store shelves. One unforgettable Guatemalan coffee from Huehuetenango sealed the deal, and Neil knew he had to share the good stuff. What began as small-batch roasts in Stouffville turned into a full-fledged roastery by 2010—and Velvet Sunrise has been roasting with purpose ever since.
